I struggled with rating this book. It contains a lot of very good information and handy charts. The main reason for the lackluster rating is that there is no table of contents for the recipes. That makes navigating through the book to find that enticing-sounding dish difficult and time-consuming. I probably will use one of the many other fine raw food books much more often simply because of this. A somewhat minor concern is the extensive use of a dehydrator. If I prepare raw meals all the time, it would take an enormous amount of pre-planning--or a large collection of dehydrators--to use these recipes often. I wish I could give this book more stars because of the quality of its information, but honestly I just can't get past having to flip through page after page of recipes to find the one I need. I would happily buy a revised version if it included links to individual recipes in the table of contents.

Just got this book and so far it was been Awesome. I'm not a total vegetarian yet, but being a T2 Diabetic is what has brought me to this point in controlling T2. There IS something to putting the right kind of food into your body. Real Carbs. Really Food. NOT Fat, Not Salt, Not Sugar. Not the processed Carbs (breads, pasta, etc.). Those may work for some, but in my case it is different. As time goes by, I see the results and changes in my blood work from eating real food: fruits, vegetables raw or juiced. I also find that raw juicing (ONLY) really helps my body clean itself out, cleanse itself. The unique part is that I loose weight which is the bonus from all this. It was NOT my intentions when I started being more raw, but I'll take it. There's sooo much protein in veggies, along with the aminos, vitamins, minerals, and to much more. Give your body what it needs and it will give you health in return. Give it junk and you get junk ... in the formal of serious aliments and conditions. GIGO as they say. It's hard to not make food into a social meeting (going out to eat with friends, family). We over eat, over spend, and the choices given on the menu are not what our body needs. The meals given in this book are tasty, fairly easy to prepare (after a trip to the grocer, and Oooh Soooo good for you. The hard part (for me) is the deprogramming of bad food choices, and ordering healthy choices off any menu. I'm now enjoying more raw meals and this book makes it easy with their selection of meals/snacks through out your day. But, if nothing else, eat smaller portions. That's where it started for me. Excellent book to have in your arsenal for healthy eating and life style living.

I have purchased several raw cook books, but this is the only practical one I've really used. The food is amazing, and easy to make. the pictures are beautiful and helpful. The ingredients are accessible at most grocery stores. The prep time is also very reasonable. I bought both this and her dessert book and am thrilled with both.

I am a cookbook collector and this is one of the few books I actually use on a regular basis. All of the recipes are so simple...yet I would never have come up with them on my own! An almond butter sauce for sweet potatoes and a dry rub for tofu? So creative! A must have for healthy eaters who like quick but tasty recipes.

I have been reading Emily's blog posts for a while now and jumped at the chance to both have a collection of her recipes as well as support her creative genius. I have only made a few of the recipes 'cause I'm so in love with the sweet potato and tahini as well as the soba noodles to try any of the others! The pics are amazing...EVERY recipe has an accompanying photo. These recipes are for people who enjoy eating scrumptious whole foods without having to spend much time to prepare. I am so tired of raw recipes that require a 10-step 3-hour process to make. I appreciate that Emily focuses on raw food AND includes recipes for foods that are best when cooked as well.

Lots of really interesting and yummy recipes in this great book. I would have enjoyed a book of fully raw recipes. Even if going by the technical definition of raw meaning nothing cooked over 48 Centigrade/117 Fahrenheit, there are definitely some recipes that don't follow that. However, this is an absolutely EXCELLENT veggie/vegan cookbook and I recommend it highly! love love love this.

I bought Rawsome under direction of my doctor because I told him I wanted to go raw. The information in this book is amazing! It goes over every fruit, vegetable, spice etc... and tells you what vitamins it has, what it's used for and anything else you want to know about it. You can also look up a vitamin and it will tell you what you can eat that has that vitamin in it. It has a lot of really good information in general about raw eating. I think it's a great reference guide. My only problem with it is that I found the recipes to be bland. They had many I had never seen online so I liked the new ideas but I had to spice up the recipes to my taste. I'm okay with that, in fact I'm going to buy another copy for my niece who is a vegetarian because the information alone in this book is that good.

I'm doing my best to eat more raw foods because it's healthier and because of the nutrients from the state of the food. This book seem very easy so I am looking forward to it. It came in very good condition and pages are beautifully filled with yummy recipes
