This book was recommended by a friend, and it was delightful. I haven’t read young adult fiction in awhile, so I wasn’t sure what to expect; however, the funny writing and the dialogue was wise. I was most impressed by the completely unpredictable (and yet reasonably believable) resolutions to the teens’ issues on their road trip. I would recommend 806 to anyone, and in fact, my husband started reading the book as soon as I finished it.
Last night I finished reading 806...I really loved it!The story was great…and it was a wonderful way to deal with the subject matter that hasn’t really been dealt with except in comical ways.I cared about the characters and I loved the payoff.Building in the music industry aspects just made it that much more real because of the author's massive success as a songwriter.
This was a quick and cute book that I read in a few hours. As an adult every once in a while I pick up a young adult book for a quick and light read. I can see the main characters being relatable (jock/nerd/outcast) and a teen enjoying the friendship that develops across social lines. Would love to see another book with the characters!
I got this as a gift for the daughter of a friend of mine, and she said she totally loved the story and loved reading it! She is now interested in other books by the author.
Engaging, easily to digest read! Can totally visualize this being made as a movie!
This was a great, light read! I read the novel with my teen daughters in mind, which helped through some of the teenage angst that the author accurately portrayed. While it was hard to believe the turn of events at certain points, I found myself not really minding, and rooting for the kids to find their way! This read like a movie, so I’m hoping it will get to the big screen someday!
This book was a light, quick, entertaining read. Though the characters are superficial and there are plot holes, it held my interest until the happy ending.
This was a light, fun read. It wasn't always the most realistic or believable but I enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing their relationships evolve.
